Romeoville Approves $341K For Street Light Program

ROMEOVILLE, IL — At its Wednesday meeting, the Romeoville Village Board approved

ROMEOVILLE, IL — At its Wednesday meeting, the Romeoville Village Board approved a proposal for its 2023 street lighting program, which includes changing over 1,326 streetlights from their current lightbulb to an LED fixture.

The proposal is for $341,181.95 with BA Solutions.

"BA Solutions is a ComEd energy provider," Director of Public Works Chris Drey said. Drey said the original estimate for the project was $658,000.

"There is about $316,000 worth of grants from ComEd, so our all-in would be $341,000," Drey said.

According to Board documents, ComEd is offering incentives for the streetlight energy efficiency program for savings of $253,501. There is also an "early bird" incentive if the Village commits to the program early, which is a savings of $63,375.25.

The Board unanimously approved the proposal.
