RLL will be utilizing a central check-In process for all students and guests on August 23 and 24. Doing so allows us to streamline our process and ensure all requirements (e.g. meningitis vaccination submitted) are met, questions are answered, and bottlenecks are limited at the residence halls and apartments. After checking in at the central location, students will be directed to their residence hall/apartment. Upon arrival, the student will be greeted by RLL staff and volunteers and directed where to park. Plan to arrive 15-30 minutes before your time slot to get through the check-in process.

Exact times will be available on the welcome page of the student's myLeo housing portal.

To aid in the flow of traffic and the extensive parking demands, please follow the outlined process and assigned parking areas. Please note that students will need to promptly purchase parking decals to avoid receiving tickets starting the first day of classes.

Whitley Hall, Pride Rock, Phase 2 and Phase 3 parking lot(s) will be used for unloading purposes only. Staff will be present to guide vehicles in the lot to unload belongings. After your move-in time slot has elapsed, your vehicle must be moved to Lot 19 on Walnut and Bois D'Arc Street.

F-Hall residents may park directly in front of their building or in Lot 6 or Lot 7. Please remember to purchase the designated F-Hall parking decal to avoid receiving tickets. The general resident decal is not valid for F-Hall parking.

New Pride residents may park directly in front of their building. Please remember to purchase the designated New Pride parking decal to avoid receiving tickets. The general resident decal is not valid for New Pride parking.

Prairie Crossing Apartments residents will use the adjacent parking garage. Vans, U-Hauls, and other large moving vehicles will not fit in the parking garage. For unloading these vehicles, you will need to utilize the back entrance on Mayo Street. Please remember to purchase the designated Prairie Crossing parking decal to avoid receiving tickets. The general resident decal is not valid for Prairie Crossing parking.

Twenty-four hour desk operations in the residence halls will begin on Wednesday, August 23 at 8 a.m. All residents must have their student ID. Apartment desk hours will be 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Residents should bring their own moving supplies. RLL is not able to provide carts and dollies at this time.

All residents must be registered for classes in order to reside in the hall. The only exceptions for move-in are students participating in the International Orientation the week of opening.

To receive mail, residents must obtain a U.S. Post Office Box. Mail is not delivered to the residence halls. The U.S. Post Office has a branch on campus, located south of the football stadium. They require a letter of residency from the Office of Residential Living and Learning that can be obtained from the front desk of your residence hall during move-in and in the main RLL office, located in Halladay Student Services, once classes have started.

Academic LLCs are sponsored by an academic department and will have faculty and staff that will provide additional academic and or extra-curricular programming for participants.

Personal responsibility is one of the most important lessons that can be learned at college. All students are considered adults and will be treated accordingly by all University staff. Residential Living and Learning will strive to connect students to the many resources available for a student to accomplish their goals. Students must take an active part in their academic and personal success by letting our staff know if they need assistance in a particular area.

If a resident is interested in living in another room or building on campus, they are welcome to use the Room Swap function in the housing application until mid-August. After that, the Waitlist opens in the myLeo housing portal and residents can put their name on one waitlist. If a spot becomes available in the desired hall, we will contact the student on the waitlist.

If students have a roommate or facility concern, they should contact their hall staff for assistance instead of using the waitlist to move.

Security Precautions:

All housing and meal plans contracts are for both Fall and Spring terms, therefore students must submit a Contract Release Request if they wish to cancel the contract. Due to the nature of the contracts, a majority of requests are denied, therefore, students should not make alternate plans to live off campus until they have received an approved request. The Contract Release Request can be found under Other Apps in the myLeo housing portal.
