Flashing lights blinking along the highway caught the attention of drivers this week.
Rochester's DOT spokesman Jordan Guerrein said the agency was "made aware of malfunctioning highway lighting" along the Rochester area interstate.
He said the agency immediately alerted the Monroe County Department of Transportation, which is responsible for maintaining lighting on this stretch of the road, on Route 204 between Interstate 490 and Route 33.
County spokeswoman Meaghan McDermott said new LED lights were installed on Friday and that the lights are "more sensitive to electrical supply issues than the high-pressure sodium lights they replaced."
McDermott said that the issue was fixed Monday.
Anyone who spots any sort of highway or traffic light malfunctions should report the issue to the Regional Traffic Operations Center at (585) 753-7780.
